Rear Underbody/Tray Trim Cracked

Featured Replies

Noticed that both left and right rear sections of he underbody trim were cracked on our Superb this weekend :(

VW dealership I bought the car from 2 weeks ago is demanding pictures hopefully the one below will convince them.

They are also playing dumb about part numbers (can't really help unless you provide the part number). Is there a reliable parts catalogue online these days?

I've found the page below:

http://www.oemepc.com/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/SUP/year/2016/drive_standart/768/hg_ug/825/subcategory/825010/part_id/0/lang/e#sec_13

The parts in question are labelled 13 on the diagram. I'd just like to be able to cross reference the part number before I pass it on to the dealer.

Cheers,

Hi, Not sure on the part number but my photos might help. Note that my tray seems to be in contact with speed bumps quite often so perhaps yours is the same. Repairing the tray is possible, and quite a fun DIY job if the dealer won't accept responsibility.

Ta for this. Weirdly, the sections that have failed on mine are the ones that sit behind the one you have pictured. The damaged point is more or less between the wheels so can't have been speed bumps.

You're right though, it should be very repairable but I think the dealership that I bought from should really pick up the tab for a couple of new parts. If they dig their heals in though I'll just have to do as you've done and stitch them back together.

Cheers,
