Fuse box access

Featured Replies

I wish to get into my fuse box ( the one in the cabin) but the lid looks almost flush with the surrounding trim, what is the best way of getting it open without any damages.

Thanks.

There should be a slot at the very bottom of the lid, into which you can insert a wide bladed screwdriver.

The handbook (page 170) is confusing as the diagram is for LHD cars.

RHD cars have fuses at right hand end (driver's end) of dashboard.

Trim removal tools would no doubt be useful to ensure no damage occurred. Also handy for lots of other things in the car.

the fuse board within is also upside down with the fuse numbers etc!!

I use the end of the ignition key. Right size and has slightly rounded sides so they don't dig in.

This shows the fuses as they appear in the box, as above the manual has them upside down

Thanks for the responses, I knew where the fuse box is, and also the orientation of the fuses from Urrells, and others, earlier postings but couldn't see the slot!

Again, many thanks.

I'll second what John has said here.

Proper trim tools are a cheap and really good investment if you do your own jobs on any car,  to avoid scratching your dashboard and car in general.

Our last vehicle was a Nissan Elgrand, and I bought a £9 set on Ebay after seeing some of the horribly scratched and butchered dashboards round ICE units where screwdrivers and other tools had been used.
