Gearbox codes

Featured Replies

Guys, i havent long owned my octavia vrs mk1 and after purchasing had a noise when turning right, sounded like wheel bearing! The othee night i turned right and it felt like it lost power for a second, but then had a horrible rattle when not on power in gear!! Under acceleration its fine with no noise! After driving with it jacked up, the noise comes from the diff area of the gearbox!! But my question is, is EHA the correct code?? I have also been told an EVS will fit but will rev higher and use more fuel?? BUT would a 6 speed from a leon with same AUQ engine code fit also? Or do i need the lroginal EHA?? thanks in advance

02J EHA is standard fit box.

A 6 speed can be fitted, but is not a straight swap. you will need shafts, gear linkage, and a few other bits that I'm struggling to remember at the moment, but I'm sure someone else will be along soon to fill in the gaps.

Cheers for the reply mate, appreciate it, I shall keep an eye out for 02J EHA box, rather than prat around with making a 6 speed fit! Need to get it going again as priority lol
