Intermittent self-activation of door locks

Featured Replies

Since having my rear door leak problems sorted, I'm now finding that, quite often, the doors of my Fabia lock themselves shortly (not after the same period of time each time). Sometimes, also, they locks make a clonking sound as if they are locking, but don't quite manage to. Could this be related to the rear door work, or an entirely separate new problem. The car is booked in to the garage, who say the locking mechanism can be programmed to do all sorts of things. I'd rather point the finger at the re-sealing of the doors (the door cards, etc, had to come off) than have to pay a bill for a 'new' fault. Much obliged to anyone who has any experience of this or thoughts as to the cause. I've not touched the child locks on the rear doors, and my reading of the handbook doesn't indicate anything 'clever' can be set up, ie, auto locking once under way.

Not come across the problem before, but you could try changing to using the spare key, in case the fault is with the transmitter of the key you are currently using.
