Hi to All,

Just re joined after losing all my old Login details. Not been online much either.

Could anyone tell me where to post a thread regarding finding a decent knowledgeable mechanic in the area mentioned. ?

Crikey mate. It was the weekend. A lot of people don't sit by their computers all day looking for new posts. If they had posted a good mechanic, I doubt he'd have been able to do anything over the weekend anyhow and if he's really good, he'll be booked up well in advance.

Hello Lee,

You didn't mention where in "the north" you are looking for a good mechanic; a town name or location would be helpful!

Did I misread, I now see it's Northumberland, a pretty huge county, maybe a more localised ask would get you some replies...

Hoping to purchase a 2.0l TSi Sportline/Laurin & Klement variant at some point soon. My budget may result in me seeking out a vehicle with 95K onwards on the clock. I’ll be only considering something with a full comprehensive service history. My understanding is that I shouldn’t worry about cam chain tensioners as they go on and on. But do they? So is there anything I should really looking out for? Thanks

Last September my Kamiq 1.5 DSG 2020reg (regularly serviced) displayed 'Gearbox in Emergency Mode'. Very near home so able to limp home. Dealer took it in and fixed it under extended warranty. All okay until a month ago when it happened again, this time far from home. Switched off the car, restarted and all back to normal and drove perfectly. Yesterday it happened again and only D2 available. Started car today, no problem, all working, no warning sign. I'll be contacting the dealer again

Hi folks, I am looking at buying a Yeti which currently has a spare wheel fitted and therefore a raised boot floor - if I wanted the option of the lowering boot floor and taking out the spare wheel, for car camping, I understand that I need to buy a puncture repair kit and the polystyrene tray that it's housed in, plus I'd also need to source the boot floor that would sit on top of the (now empty) wheel well. The existing boot floor that sits on top of the spare wheel is not one of the variable

Hello everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with my brake pedal (basically going to the floor), and I suspect it might be related to the ABS module. I tried to scan the ABS unit for fault codes using VCDS, but I’m unable to communicate with it: it seems like CAN communication is not available. Is this normal on a Fabia Mk2 (5J), or should I definitely be able to access the ABS module via CAN? Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This might be just a coincidence. But I have just had a new windscreen fitted following a rock being thrown up by a lorry's wheels hitting it, which left a small chip, which after a few days became a long crack and was growing. The screen was replaced last week, and yesterday I discovered the seat was not responding to the controls. I cannot see any fuse listed in the owner's manual which states it supplies power to the seats. The driver's seat is working as usual, which made me think it must b
