I have a Skoka Octavia 2005. I have an intermittent starting fault. When I put my key in the ignition and wait for all warning lights to go out, when I turn the key to start the engine I get a red steering wheel coming up on dash, this can happen anything from 2 too 20 times. But then the engine will start and there'll be no warnings on the dash. I've had an Auto Electrian look at her but had no luck. So he's coming back this week to do more checks. Any advice will be greatly and thankfully received. 

The easiest solution for you is to find someone local who has VCDS and scan your car for you, that should tell you any problems that are lurking within your car. If you are anywhere near the Oldham area I'd be more than happy to do it.
