Hello - considering leasing a Skoda

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've just joined to get some insight into Skoda. I'm interested in an Estate that will also tow so I've been looking at Superb and Octavia vRS. I've yet to physically see the spec of car I want or have a test drive so that's my first step.

See you at Skodafest maybe...

Welcome!

Hope you enjoy the test drives :)

Hi there, good luck with your decision.  Both are great cars, the vRS is both practical and fun the Superb is really worth a look ;)

Hello Andacami welcome to the forum.:)

After a roam around a couple of dealers and help from Briskoda, I've gone for an almost fully loaded Superb Estate Sportline 280 4x4 as my starting point. I expect I'll have to lower my expectations when the quotes come in though  However, it's a lot of car for reasonable money...

Do you guys traditionally PCP or buy to own your Skodas?

(Question may be better off in another thread, happy for mods to move)

Horses for courses - people here will have used all the ownership options.

Similar chat going on here at the moment in fact;

So I bought used instead:

Thanks everyone for your advice, some good offers carne through, maybe one day, a shiny new fully loaded Sportline will sit on my drive...

So far, very happy with what I've got just now...

Good luck with it!

Looks good!

Thanks. Clutch pedal on the floor to change gears and vibrating. Will get my local garage to have a look. Otherwise seems solid so far.

I'd do this sooner rather than later

Is it the 2.0 CR with 6 speed

2 issues that could cause the vibation etc

  • DMF
  • Clutch cover plate failure - known 6 speed 2.0CR issue with failing Sachs cover plates -URGENT Check otherwise it may machine it's way through inside the gearbox casing - it you have drips of gearbox oil on the flooor, your toooo late

PS Concentric slave cylinder can fail - also gearbox off job - change whilst your passing!

Yep 2.0l six speed manual on 60 plate, VIN returns:

•    Škoda Superb II Combi Comfort/Ambition/Elegance 2.0 TDI 103kw
•    model year 2011, production number 029096
•    7x airbag, production plant Kvasiny (CZ)
•    The entered VIN is valid!

I "thought" and possibly quite wrongly the 103kw did not have DMF. Anyway, lets see, what happens, in for an oil and filter service and a quick spanner check as well as diagnosis on this particular issue - hope it's not a big/expensive issue or will be having words with the guy I bought it from... Already left him a VM saying we need to talk if it goes wrong.

I've not noticed any drips; either since I've had it, or from where it was parked when I first saw it.

I'm away for the weekend at a certain 24hr race, car is booked in a week Monday for the once over, it probably won't move until next Friday earliest. Thanks for the tips :)
