Do aftermarket panel filters increase performance on the vRS tdi?

These any good? I know they benefit the petrol car but not sure about the tdi.

I have put in a k&n panel filter in my 2016 1.6tdi dsg.

It can't give you more power as the maximum fuelling quantity is controlled by the ECU.

However transient performance for me is much better as the MAF can senses more airflow when accelerating  and therefore reduce the smoke limit fuelling.

 

I also get better economy on my commute to work 12 miles urban driving I can get between 60-70 mpg on the gauge depending on traffic. 

 

I only got it because I managed to find a voucher code on eurocarparts and only paid £30
