  1. Hi, I also have a 2021 car and hated all the glitches. Been on 1941 for a long while and all runs well. Had the SOS unit changed due to pop pop error on it prior to updating to 1941. As for DPF, you might just need to run some good quality fuel and to do a regen. Let the dealer have a go at getting it right, if you still have issues then go for rejection.
  2. I鈥檓 not in any hurry to upgrade to 1969, as has been mentioned on that post hardware also needs to be compatible for updates. I'm happy with 1941, stable and does what I need. I will only go to 1969 if it comes via OTA meaning that the rest of the hardware is compatible with it etc. As I also will be handing back before next service I鈥檓 happy to leave it all as is and avoid issues 馃槀.
  3. Have had my 1.5 SEL from factory in July 2021. Love it, quiet enough around town and motorways especially with the e-tec system working. Also can run on 2 cylinder mode to save fuel when engine operating conditions allow. Be sure to tune the vehicle performance on the Individual mode to make it best suit your requirements (Switches to normal at each Key on cycle but shortcuts make for quick change). Please make sure your running on SW 1941 otherwise glitches will disappoint the experience somewhat.
  4. @BJBurns, i suspect that as its just a face lift they would likely share 90% of the parts. When / if, they launch a MK5 on a new platform then i'm sure they'd be making the special editions :). I may be wrong, but that's what i notice in general.
  5. @varooom People seem to having much happier experiences with the 1941, could you also pass this on to me please? I am on 1896 2021 SE L e-tec.
  6. Hello all, Is there anyone in the North West London area that can code the below for me? I have Carista which worked great on my previous Mk3 but useless on the Mk4 馃槥 Please PM me if you can help and we can arrange something. car is a 2021 SEL hatch 1.5 e-tec DSG. 路 Oil temp on VC 路 Trans temp on VC 路 Cornering front fogs activation 路 Add option for standard cruise control 路 ACC overtake enable 路 Driving mode on last remembered setting e.g. individual 路 E-tec engine - prevent engine re-start when car in front moves away. Many thanks in advance
  7. @ NGD i also got the SEL 1.5 mild hybrid. delivered last year July so had lots of issues with SW and SOS unit etc. All updated about 5 months back and car running sweet. Get really good economy as well being a petrol as I was coming from a MK3 1.6 tdi DSG. I do however miss the puddle lights in the Mk4 cant see why they didn't keep that but hey the bonnet now has a hydraulic lifter rather than the stick as a compromise 馃ぃ. Options: Winter pack, heated wheel is a god send. Can set to come on automatically at car start on a cold morning, No more gloves as i needed in my last diesel during longer warm up times. Park assist (not used it much but had it on my Mk3 so optioned it in any case). Rear camera (not so good in the dark, have to switch of the lights to get to see better. my Sis in laws same age SEAT Ibiza camera much better in dark). I don't really miss the auto high beam as on the Mk3 they would often switch off late causing on coming traffic to flash me so I didn't bother option that. If needed you can find a friendly VCDS user to code it in for but this is more complicated compared to Mk3 vehicle as you need some extra security. I used Carista for a lot of stuff on the MK3 but cant do anything useful on the Mk4.
  8. Hi Jonop, I have this happen consistently if i switch off the engine and turn the ignition straight back on. I am not bothered by it to be honest.
  9. I also came from a Mk3 to Mk4 and missed the trip reset initially as I used it often for tallying business miles. Now I just use the Since Start and Long term data and as needed. You get much more data as well so actually more useful, I don't miss the trip meter anymore.
  10. So i had my car updated to 1896 on Monday just gone and the car works a treat now As mentioned previously i got some money back from VWFS which came to 拢381.60 and also 拢250 extra as compensation Just shows if there's a problem and you are not happy, make sure you log it at the dealer and log a complaint to Skoda UK or in my case VWFS as i have it on PCH.
  11. I have a similar car 1.5 DSG SE L from new and I feel the exact same thing with the brake judder. I drive more economically minded so I can not imagine that I have overheated and warped the discs. I think the opposite as mentioned by @J.R. I don't drive that often too so a gradual build up of "stuff" maybe causing the issue. I had the MK3 1.6 tdi DSG before I got this one and it still had original brakes on it when returned 4 years 75,000 miles no issues at all. Will try the Italian tune up / scrubbing the brakes as mentioned when I next get the chance. I don't think it a big issue for me as I had to do an emergency stop yesterday and it was fast and controlled deceleration. @Rich66 I would dry scrubbing the brakes as its cost free and might solve the problem. If it doesn't and you feel you need to, then you can just get the parts replaced few weeks before your trip to allow time to bed them in nicely before heading to the faster roads in France. Does the Auto hold potentially cause the issue? Coming to a quick stop at a traffic light and the brakes held on may cause uneven cooling around the disc? Though I expect only the rear discs to work on the Auto hold, not all 4....
  12. 4 weeks is a bit of a long time. A pre-charged booster is a good shout. A friend of mine has his car parked up for long spells and uses a panel like this (others available ) https://www.amazon.co.uk/AA-Essentials-AA1432-Battery-Charger/dp/B084M5ZL5L. He has an old V6 diesel and he said even coming back to the car over winter, the engine fires up first hit. The panels are to keep the battery at the topped up level but wont charge it up of course. Problem with modern cars are the electronics running in the background that can sap power over a longer period of time which is what will cause issues on re-start.
  13. Sounds, good. I complained a month back to VWFS as i have my Octavia on PCH and they agreed to the fault and offered me a refund of 10% of my total monthly payments (on the date it is repaired) since I received the car. My car's 10 months old now so will be a decent refund at least for the troubles, though it should be a trouble free car in the first place. Will try to contact the nearest dealer and see what they can do for the update as you had, also the car has been "offline" for about a month too 馃ぃ.
  14. Wow finally, this is the only issue on my car now. I have a 1.5e-tec SE L delivered in July 2021. Can you send an image of the SW version on the unit? It might not be the only update but gives us some hints.
  15. Hi, I have the same problems since i got the car from new factory order last July. My heated steering wheel also stopped working after they did a SOS module update. Have booked my car in from Mon 7th Feb, hopefully i can report back with some good news.
