been rumbling for a while I think it's something like £37 billion over here but in the region of >$800 billion in the US   as is often the case if the crap hits the fan there will be some good buys for "them with the cash in hand" ------------  it's Jed Clampett " all them zero's ain't worth nuthin'"  economics all over again

During May, 8.5 per cent fewer new cars were registered in the UK than the same month in 2016.  But the devil was in the detail that showed private sales dropped by a substantial 14 per cent in May and diesel car sales plummeted 20 per cent compared to a year ago, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders confirmed on Monday.

It seems to be about the financial exposure to a diesel devaluation........petrol looks to be a safer bet for the finance companies.

(how long before PCP is available for BEVs I wonder)
