Advice on buying a used 168bhp Yeti

Not been on the Forum for ages, so I was surprised to see that my beloved Yeti is being replaced. We live in rural France and we bought a Yeti 140 4x4 new in 2010 and then when my wife's 14 year old Fabia came to be replaced we bought a 6 month old 2016 Yeti 110bhp 4x2 diesel, (hardly much more than a new Fabia)...... both cars are manual

Very pleased with both cars and perfect for what we need.

I much prefer the 2010 140 4x4 as it really suits the roads better out here and I did not realise how effective the 4x4 system is until I drove the 4x2.  I also prefer the gear ratios of the older car.

 

We are now spending maybe 4 or 5 months in the UK and my plan is to buy a RHD Yeti to use in the UK...... I have been looking at low mileage, (less than 30,000 miles). cars.

 

Dealer (listed) prices for mid to good spec cars are, (all 4x4 and manual)

2012 -SE or Elegence – 140bhp - £10k to £11k– similar price for a 2012 168bhp

2015 168 – Elegence - £14k

or my local UK dealer has a S Outdoor 110ps – 2016(65 Reg) – 11,500 miles at under £13k

touch wood my 2010 4x4 has been totally reliable ….. or have I just been fortunate? ……. What do I need to look out for on a 4 or 5 year 140/168bhp car ….. or should I opt for the 2016 110ps 4x4

Do not want leather .. neither here nor there for a SATNAV and never really use the entertainment system ……

Try and find a Euro 6 version, from late 2014 I believe.

No issues with the "fix" then.

No reason not to buy a non-fixed 140/170. Just don't apply the fix.

Simples.

I was looking at a used 170 vs 150, I asked the dealer about the fix issues, he suggested I went the 150 route!
