Hi, I wonder if any of you out there could help me. I recently bought a second hand Octavia estate, 07 plate, 2.0 litre diesel and I'm having trouble with the engine. It's happened a couple of times now but I've no idea what's causing it.

 

A couple of times when I've stopped at a junction or traffic lights the engine has just died. It doesn't make any strange sounds, doesn't feel strange, no warnings on the dash, it just goes from idle to stopped almost as if I switched the ignition off. It then won't restart on the ignition key alone, but if you squirt some easystart in the intake it starts smoothly and runs with no problems. Had the AA out the first time and he found no fault codes or problems with the engine.

 

Possibly connected to this, occasionally under acceleration it feels a little juddery.

 

Has anyone come across this before and what could be causing it?

 

You need to get it on vcds and measure fuel flow.

Sounds very much like injector seals but at around 180quid for seals and bolts its an expencise what if..
