Fine Scratches

Featured Replies

I have some fine scratches on the RH front wing of my Mk1 - no idea where they came from, but they are only in the top layer of the lacquer. What would be best to shift them? I was thinking of some G3, just worried that it would be too harsh, other option is my trusty bottle of T-Cut original.

Avoid tcut please

Are you doing these by hand or da

Ultimate compound by meguiars is my go to product it works from me

As a consumer aimed product rather than professional it is aggressive but not overly so like t cut

it also won best compound in auto express magazine for what that's worth to to detailing world but in my opinion that means even a novice can get good results

You can request a free sample from meguairs

No doubt other people will suggest other products

Usually fine scratches are from washing regime or could be someone brushed against in a carpark walking past

Without pictures it is hard to tell

As per previous poster....step away from the t-cut and g3..........far to aggressive for most tasks and would leave a far worse finish than before you started once the fillers are washed away.

Useful product recommendation above, also Gyeon q2 polish or autofinesse rejuvenate work by hand if you don't own a machine polisher.

cheers
