Hello to one and all, I am Rob and currently own a 1.4 16v automatic 53 plate Fabia Comfort estate.

This is a fantastic TARDIS of a car, the shear size of the boot with rear seats removed is awesome.

Only minor niggles in 5 years so far?!?!?

Hi Rob - welcome to the forum - we have a 1.4 16v  Polo as well as a Fabia Hatch.

What one do you prefer??

Sorry late reply Pony.

The fabia is a 1.9tdi PD with cruise control so I prefer that for mway/long distance. The fabia is slightly bigger overall with a bigger boot.

The Polo we bought as a first car for my missus,I gradually worked on it to make it run better - the Polo is a really nice little car to drive, first petrol car I had owned for  30 odd years. It is a 2002 1.4 16v 9N model,we bought it a couple of years ago with 51,000 on the clock and is now on approx 73,000.

The Fabia prob gives 55-57 mpg avg,the Polo prob 40-42 avg depending on weather and type of driving,I have never bothered to work out the exact mpg,I usually do a rough mental calculation of mileage since last tank fill  against refuel gallons.
