Afternoon folks,

 

quick question as I suspect the good folks at Carsystems have gone home for the evening wanted to finish install this eve if possible (if the rain ever stops lol).

 

Got one of their cables to install the highline VW BT and MDI combo box 5N0035729A to replace the kufatec cable and normal mdi / BT module and simplify my wiring looms a bit.

 

There's two pairs of cables that I'm not sure about and their online instructions don't seem to mention.

 

Cables are white and white / blue, grey / black and purple / black.

They relate to voice control and allow you to route the microphone through the head unit without splicing wires. Cant quite remember my loom but one way of connecting them routes mic through to the head unit and then to the BT unit and one way is straight to the BT unit. You should be able to trace wires to work it out. Obviously only connect them via your head unit if it supports voice control eg Columbus.

Thanks adamal I've an 'open circuit' fault on the BT telephone module in VCDS so I guess they need connected one way or another, yes its a Columbus, so I'll see what wisdom Carsystems come back with and have another go tomorrow eve.  Cheers
