Just joined Briskoda - I'm the chief (only) petrolhead in the family and just negotiated a 2016 Octavia 1.9TDi Estate SE-L for my son to replace his worn-out Vectra-C.

Been involved with "one-make" forums for many years covering my own Vauxhall, Subaru, Hyundai and VW ownerships and noted that Briskoda is well regarded. In one sense, I hope not to make any more postings as that would indicate that something has gone wrong!

Hello Rupertstrooper and family welcome along to the Skoda forum .:)

Welcome along :hi:.  I presume that's a 1.6 or 2.0 unit in the Octavia?  I'd hope there aren't any older 1.9s knocking around at this stage!

My son and I collected the car yesterday, all seems well with the car although the dealer didn't switch it from variable servicing to fixed time/mileage as I thought we'd agreed but easier to get that done when the 20,000 mile / 2 year service is done. Salesman just talked too much during the hand over so most of what he demonstrated on the car went over our heads!

Plan to get the RoadHero skinny spare kit from Rochford Tyres - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Space-Saver-Spare-Wheel-Tyre-Jack-RoadHero-for-Skoda-Octavia-Mk3-13-17-/382100027638?hash=item58f6efb8f6%3Ag%3AiB8AAOSwblZZJpr4&_trkparms=pageci%3A0c778247-412a-11e7-9fcb-74dbd1804de5%7Cparentrq%3A3edf75ee15c0aa12e185d749ffffe4b7%7Ciid%3A190 - as that should sit below the lower level in the boot - and retain the electric pump which I know to be very effective as my own Touareg uses it to inflate it's own collapsible spare, a weird spare that's full width but shrinks in diameter as it's deflated.
