Android Auto not working

Featured Replies

I have a brand new Octavia for a couple of days now and I can't get Android Auto to work. Although AndoidAuto app is not yet available in my country through google play, I have manadged to install the app from another source.

The phone and car starts to communicate, and I get to the point where I have to confirm stuff on my phone, but then it just goes to an error page (on the phone app). Is there a setting on the phone that must be enabled or is there a different problem?

I have the same problem, every now and then. The dealer could not find a fault or fix it. It happens more often on my Polo than on the Octavia. Common solutions would include: make sure you use an original cable, the one supplied with your phone would be best; reinstall the app on your phone; make sure that when connected the phone is in MTP mode (media transfer; with some carriers or OS versions it may use charge mode by default, not MTP)

Thanks for the answer. It works now. I have downloaded the latest apk version and make sure I have debbuging enabled on my phone.

you also need to have gps high accuracy enabled on your android phone for the google maps  to work

Anyone else noticed that Waze is now available?

Gave it a go the other day - not as intuitive or easy to use as Google maps, but it has potential. Waze is always fantastic for routing through traffic.

I have waze on mine and used it the other day. I was impressed, but as you say it's not as intuitive.

I think some features are great though, so I'll stick with it on longer runs most likely.

I use Android Auto and Waze since I bought my car, what is for almost two months now. AA app I use version 2.3.716604 and Waze Beta version as standard does not want to communicate with my radio, which is version 4.26.0.902 for me now. Waze is just amazing comparing to Google maps - at least for me. :D
