Testing ESC

Featured Replies

How can i confirm if my car has ESC? The sticker under the boot says its does '1AP' however I've not been able to confirm how it should actually work. Had a go in an empty car park in the wet trying to get lift off oversteer but nothing kicked in- it just slid. I am doubting whether it actually has it or not because even fairly aggressive driving around roundabouts getting the car to understeer/oversteer around a bit the only thing which happens is traction control kicks in a bit when the wheels loose grip under acceleration.

Is there an extra fuse or component I could be looking for to see if the system is fitted? There was something about an electromechanical brake booster being on this system but what does that look like?

Im just curious as the car was supposed to have heated seats but i discovered the seats have been replaced with later ones without heating elements and the cables just tucked up inside the cushions. Dont want to find other things have been replaced and messed about with as well.

Yeah I was expecting it to do something though when i tried to unsettle the car. Does it only work under braking?

It works constantly with or without braking.
