Spare wheel & jack for 2011 Octavia Scout?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Got my new (to me!) 2011 Octavia Scout (17" Proteus alloys which I believe are 7Jx17 ET54, PCD 5 x 112 and the tyre is 225/50/R17), and it doesn't have a spare wheel, jack etc. - just the tube of gunk and the compressor. I'd like to get a spare wheel and jack - don't mind too much what wheel (steel, space saver etc.) as long as it will be good for a reasonable journey and preferably not limited to 50mph. I see the full kit from Skoda is a) quite expensive, b ) seems to be a 16" wheel and c) seems to be limited to 50mph.

Can anyone recommend a good place to get a decent spare wheel and jack? Seen a few on eBay but there may be a better place to look? I have searched on here, but there are lots of options for different cars and I'm not sure which is right. I looked on Tyreleader, but it would only offer 225/45/R17 tyres and 15" or 16" steel wheels for my car? Any pointers?

Thank you.

The Scout utilises the same 16" steel spare as the other Octavia models. The 50mph limit is purely down to running a different sized wheel and tyre. The actual steel wheel and tyre is the same as used on basic models without alloy wheels so it is more than up to the job.

There are plenty of used Proteus alloys online if you fancied a full sized alloy spare. This one is the two-tone colour fitted as a factory option on the facelift, but needs a refurb anyway...

Then the jack and foam insert...

By the time you've refurbed the alloy and fitted a tyre its an expensive job.

For the amount of use it'll get I'd just stump up for one of these...

Thanks Silver

I had seen those on eBay, but they end up only a gnats pube cheaper than the official kit direct from Skoda at £179! I was hoping to pay less. I'll keep my eyes open as I'm not in a hurry, but might just have to bite the bullet.

Cheers.

Disregard my original post.

I ordered my vehicle via a broker and as well as getting options discounted, somehow I got some for free (Anthracite paint being one).

This might be a good start?
