Flat bottom steering wheel upgrade

Featured Replies

I am considering a mk3 flat bottom steering wheel upgrade.

The previous owner of my car already completed a standard mk3 steering wheel upgrade so I already have the right airbag and coding etc.

Am I being naive in thinking all I have to do is purchase something like the below from ebay, swap over the buttons which should be already coded and then refit.

Surely it can't be that simple right?

I would say its that simple, its only the round bit you're changing (unless the buttons are different?)

If you have a Mk3 style wheel fitted with working buttons

You can buy the FB wheel but would need to swop the buttons from your wheel.

This is what I thought but then thought surely it can't be that simple. Then again all the hard work has already been done.

I have the mk3 with working buttons so I think I will take a punt. I have all the tools having swapped a mk2 non mfsw for a mk2 mfsw a few years back so should be fairly straight forward.

Thanks both.
