M Coupe. MMM forgot about that one. Quite a possible!

was on a course with some SAS guy who had a v tweaked one of these. Showed me video of him in it on a track  The donughts he was pulling where immense!! Do likey.

Before you decide at least test drive a 350z, Ive tracked one a couple of times & its a real joy to drive. We had one on the cannonball last year & it performed incredibly well, being a Nissan its reliable & is relativly cheap to run

Lotus Carlton is an 80's Vauxhall with a monster engine. Any other Carlton would be long in the scrapyard by now!

How about a Mercedes E55 AMG jobbie?

Holden HSV?

Hi

The Holden is in the list (HSV GT SC the supercharged UK import one) missed one last week at

Hi Stuart

A test drive shortlist is what I am trying to genrate at the moment. We will be hiring a TVR Tuscan for the day sometime in March, but everything else will need to be dealer test drives. I have a few that I absolutely must drive and the 350Z is on that list along with the NSX. The Jags are familiar territory for me. It has to be said that although not exactly a sports car, the XJR is a hugely capable car with monster performance on tap and I love the way they look.

Can't think of anything that hasn't been mentioned...

I am soooo jealous though. :(

Mk III Toyota Supra. Youd get change from 10 grand for a good one and they are real monsters.

Just had a quick look on Autotrader, and there's two pages of M-Coupes within your budget...

Hi

I considered the Supra twin turbo long and hard. They are awsome cars and quite moddable, however, they do look a bit footballer. Trying to find a good standard car without a naff bodykit is difficult too. What sort of put me off one was that shortly after I drove one, I drove an XJR down the same stretch of local road. The XJR was quicker and not in a subtle way, so mods would be a must. On the upside, the 6 speed box is a nice one. Also, as the roads get more sinuous, the Supra keeps it together better than the Jag. Will have to put it back on my shortlist.

The Corvette is an appealing idea and if it were RHD I would have one happily. Trouble is even in my Fabia I do a lot of overtaking (I did approximately 30 miles of driving today and did 4 or 5 overtakes), so I need one of them for over the channel. Already got one yank in the collection (1959 Cadillac) though this may be sold to help fund the weekend car.

There was a Ford GT in a garage near me a few months ago for about that. Mmmm.

And an Ultima on Autotrader last week. The missus is fussy and would like a car with an interior. Might be time for a change of SWMBO:O

Bet you would not be jealous of my working hours to have saved up though. Consultancy at 8 - 24 hours per week, driving instruction at least 4 days of 8-8 ish, and somtimes 5 days a week and still doing the odd IT installation. Just made the decision to get myself something nice last year, saved up for the Fabia first, then just kept saving.

Starting to think I should spend a little less on the car and the remainder going off on a touring holiday.

20K'd get you a 12 month old monaro with 2yrs manf. warranty left - bloke at work bought one - very understated and sounds fabulous.
