Replacing 1.6 diesel EGR - Any tips

Featured Replies

Hi I have the dreaded flashing coil, ELM light on and limp mode.  Code is p0407.  I see no choice but to change EGR and cooler.  Has anyone completed this task, if so any tips would be appreciated.  Do you have to remove the DPF or breakdown the suspension.  Any tips appreciated before I get the jacks out.

No need to remove the DPF but it does help to move to one side if you can.

you need to remove the turbo oil feed and return lines so will need to be primed again ideally before refitting and starting the engine.

its a chew on of a job really so good luck!

Thanks so much for your swift reply hutchysrs50.  Bit naive but how do you prime the turbo oil pipes.

thanks

If you unplug the injectors and crank the engine for a bit that will prime them
