Travall or OEM Dog Guard?

Featured Replies

Hi again,

has anyone had experience of both of these dog guards? I've just rang my local dealer and they have said there are some body modifications needed to fit an OEM dog guard and it's a dealer only job - is this correct? I was just going to purchase an OEM one from ebay but if i then have to book it in at a dealer then i'll likely just go for the Travall one.

Car is a 2010 VRS Estate - not sure why the dealer asked what spec the car was, i would've thought all estates of this year were the same?

thanks

I've got a 2009 hatchback, and the mounts required drilling a hole into the body - I did this myself as I bought mine on fleabay (although it's not easy, and I wouldn't want to do it again). Also required some cutting of carpet.

I thought the estate was supposed to be almost plug-and-play, but can't say for sure.

I did post fitting instructions not long back in a post

I had an OEM dog guard fitted to my mk2 estate and can assure you it needs no cutting or drilling. Just fits in to place and tightened up with an alum key.

It is for sale in the for sale section if you are interested.

Replied in the for sale section, cheers

OEM dog guard is a great piece of kit.

I thought they the oem dog guard was the travail one. The Octavia in my local dealer has a travail one fitted and ford definitely use travall for their own too.

The only difference being a possible sticker and the cost.
