Alloy Protection? AlloyGators/Rimblades

Featured Replies

I've ordered a new vRS estate today, expected delivery around November. :D

With the experience of other Motability cars and PAs driving them, I'm also keen on finding some protection for the alloys. I've been looking at AlloyGators and Scuffs by RimBlades.

Has anybody any advice or experience, maybe even pictures on a vRS estate in Meteor grey with 18s?!

Thanks

I've had the same dilemma with my partners focus st before buying a set of alloygators.

I searched forums and found people both for and against them, but the general feeling is keep checking them for movement and put them back in place before one works loose.

I decided to fit one side and see how it went for a few weeks before commuting to the other side and they have been fine. I'm going to fit the other half when I get a chance.

The thing to look out for is dont expect a perfect colour match as they are made of coloured plastic.

I've ordered a TDI, my motability change over is Nov 26th. They've said the dealer should get it the week beginning 20th. So hopefully I get it on time.

Did you go for AlloyGators or which make?

I went for alloygators. Mainly because they were the only one I had heard of until this thread.  They took me about an hour per wheel, because I went over things twice to make sure I had put them on properly they still look like they have not moved one month on. But I'll keep in checking them as if they go they could cause bodywork damage.
