SECOND REAR FOG LIGHT

Featured Replies

Hello every,

Is it sure finally that the second rear fog light can't be activated in Octavia 2009 elegance trim?

Remember having seen it before in a car this characteristic enabled...

Something last :

Is it possible when parking lights enabled, the back light to have fewer of the 4 bulbs lit (not whole 'C' )

Thanks guys.

Assuming this is a FL with a combined BCM, rather than the earlier split CECM/CCM, then yes.

Second fog light is a one bit change.

Rear parking lights can either be the top bulb, two side bulbs, bottom bulb or any combination of.

You can also change which are lit for CH/LH, DRL and sidelight functions.

Both tasks will need VCP or ODIS-e as VCDS can't make the changes.

Thanks pal.

What do you mean with the above line?

If you wanted to you could have different lights on for each of those functions.

Just as an example:

- CH/LH (coming home and leaving home lights) could light only the top bulbs

- rear DRL could light the only side bulbs

- sidelights could light the only bottom bulbs

It's an extreme example and doubt anyone would want to do that of course...

Just trying to show that there is some customisation if needed :)

Good! Thank you!

Understood now..

Think my eyes caught a video somewhere in YouTube previously regarding what you describe with rear lights..

Yes I believe many would wish to adapt their tail lights in a way like that but not sure if many fans do know it or could be able to source VCP / ODIS...

Have you performed changes in yours?

Yes, I've made plenty of changes to the lighting configuration using ODIS-e including dual rear fogs lights, rear DRL and bulb warning removal for LEDs.

I've not done the changes you've mentioned as I'd prefer more rear visibility rather than less :)
