Just like that rash you got from partaking in some local delights on a stag weekend in Amsterdam that one year, I keep coming back!

 

But I'm probably only half as annoying. Well, maybe.

 

Things seem to work in cycles, don’t they? As such, I’m on the lookout for a new car. After selling my old Octavia vRS I’ve had 4 more cars, moved jobs, moved house and had a baby girl! But now the triumvirate necessities of space, practicality and cost have come round again, so my Mk7 Golf GTI is going and I’m after… another Mk1 Octavia vRS! It will be my third and the idea is to (maybe) keep hold of it a bit longer, so I’ll be looking for one at the higher end of that market (if anyone is thinking of getting rid of theirs).

 

It will be good to catch up with some old faces and see how the Briskoda lot have evolved since the last time I was on here.

Hello Babs, there'll be quite a few of us newbies since you were last on here, welcome back

Funnily enough on a heritage day, eep 2 years ago, all the old classics lined up and some of the new ones. By new I do mean post 1996. Now by rights and by the marketing mans intro, they didn't expect any of them to move.

 

Having had a blat in a 250k only one running, I quietly asked for the mkI vRS keys  The other guy I was paired with, had never driven one. We found a quiet lane where 3rd gear could be exercised. Both had smiles, I'd forgotten how nice it was. I must admit then to looking at a few mkI's as you still get a lot of the cash.

 

I'd have to not do anything to it though...
