2011 mirror adjuster broken

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Picked up my Fabia VRS yesterday and absolutely loving it after coming from a gutless swift. One issue it has is the wing mirror adjuster does not work on either side. I have checked the fuse and it is fine, i cant find this as a common problem on the forum so I'm hoping I have a loose connection but just want to see if theres something obvious i've missed.

Hi and welcome to the forum and to ownership of a flying Skud!

First port of call is to check the rubber bellow in the door frame for broken wires. Common fault throughout the VAG range, apparently!

They tend to fracture after being opened and shut over a period of time and so need a new little bit of wiring soldered in (Permanent) Or a little block connecter added to fix the wires together again (Semi permanent). The choice is yours!

BTW, The door bellow wires can also cause failure in the electric windows too.

You were correct sir. Two broken wires just after the connector for the drivers door loom. Soldered up and all is well. :)

Thats get news... Now you just have to remember the fault, should it re-occur or the windows develop a similar issue!
