Have I missed any parts I might need? I figure I shouldn't need to separate the exhaust downpipe from the manifold.

A new rocker cover gasket? They tend to go brittle.

 

Wouldn't it be easier to remove the downpipe from the manifold and lift the head off with manfolds still attached?

@anewman; are you not tempted to replace valve stem seals while the head is off?
