Columbus CarPlay, iPhone 8 and IOS 11

Featured Replies

Upgraded my phone to an iPhone8 with IOS11 on it. No surprise, Now it won't "talk" to CarPlay. I get the "No compatible device" error (it nicely suggests that I try a different USB which would be great if my mk3 Superb had more than one).

I have tried,

Factory reset for the head unit

Apple cable

Changing the name of the phone

Swearing

Full reboot of the phone

Nowt works.

I can connect outside of CarPlay, so it's no the end of the world, just frustrating.

Any ideas (other than "get an Android")?

Have you tried hardware reset. Press and hold power for some time. It may also work.

I have an iPhone 8 plus running ios11 and it works perfectly :)

Hi David, when you say “works perfectly” does that include the voice button on the steering wheel waking up Siri?  That used to work, but has stopped since updating to ios11.
