Boot jammed....Not opening

Hi Folks !!

 

New to the forum .Need bit of advise on my skoda fabia 2005 model. The boot seems to be stuck. The switch works fine and locks opens a bit bit does not release the boot fully and it is stuck...

 

Attached couple of photos....what can be the issue ? Thanks in advance.

Wondering if the spring-loaded plunger has failed. That's what pops the boot lid open when you operate the release/switch.

Try opening the lid from inside the boot by operating the orange lever on the catch and then check the plunger.

Thanks for the reply....the plunger does move when i push the boot button....i will try the lever and revert back.
