Problem with Laser for front assist

Recommended Posts

For the second time in my Superb Mk3 estates  5 month life the laser controlling the front assist and the cruise control has gone wrong. It has been recalibrated FOC by my local garage once but has now failed again and I have two advisory lights on my instrument panel saying that both the front assist and cruise control are unavailable. I have been advised that the Laser is not covered by warranty as it may have been knocked by eg" a supermarket trolley"!!!. Both times the problem has occurred while driving and not due to and accidental knocking. It is back to the garage again on Monday where it and I have spent a considerable amount of time due to numerous other faults.

Has anyone else had a problem with this and how was it resolved.?

If there is no visible sign of damage and the car is still in warranty, it is still the dealer’s responsibility to diagnose/repair the front assist radar.

The car supplied will come with Skoda assist - call them out to independently assess that the car has not been in an accident / damaged as your evidence for the dealer to investigate.
