Fan Control Module

Featured Replies

I know this is a common problem, however after many many hours of searching I cannot find the specific answer I'm looking for.

Car is Octavia VRS mk2 facelift 59 plate, so is the 2lt Tsi engine (not Tfsi)

I have issues with the cooling fan not working at all (just a slight groaning noise) and intermittent air con issues.

I know the fans work fine as both run when the air con is on. From research the best thing to change first is the fan control module..great...2 bolts and 2 plugs.

What I cannot find out is the location of it on my specific engine bay.

1. Where is it located (I'm down to under the battery tray or most likely under offside inner wing area)

2. Does anyone know the part number so I can get one before taking the car apart (I think it should be 1J0 919 506 K)

I'm not sure that module is right. Seems for older cars and I had a feeling the fan's control module were integrated in to the main fan assembly and also links to the smaller slave fan. I could be totally wrong, I'll try to look at the car later.

In mean time, free bump for anyone who can confirm.
