Hello Briskoda people,

 

Thought I would say hi as I have been floating about for a while.

 

Currently on the look out for my first Skoda, I'm being particularly fussy whilst looking though. I may be asking one or two questions regarding my purchase so be warned

 

My history has mainly been VW based, but still have a few other makes in my time. First car Mk1 Fiesta 1300 Sport, had a mk2 Fiesta, Hillman Imps, Polo G40, Beetle, a few split campers and just sold a T25 in prep for my Skoda purchase. I like a custom motor, like old retro cars. Mate of mine has been privileged to have had 2 110R's!

Which model are you considering, and can I presume from what you've said, that it'll be used not new?!

You are correct Richard in that it will be used, no way I can afford a 'new' car, but this will be the newest car I have ever owned.

 

Looking to get a Octavia Estate, but my particulars mean its a case of waiting to find the right one... must be 4x4, Bolero or better, digital display on the dash and steering wheel controls... not asking for much really

I am of course willing to sacrifice one or two of those if the right car comes along

 

The other thing I need to consider and here is where advice will be good, I am looking at petrol versions but is it worth considering diesel versions, these are obviously a lot more available, but I am worried about the new diesel regulations being brought in. Also is there a lot of difference between the PD and CR versions of the engines. Any advice on diesel would be nice as I would also like to consider the Scout in my options.
