Evening all!

Featured Replies

I’m Dan from South Croydon and have had all sorts of silly cars in the past - from a 996 911 Turbo, an E55 AMG Kleeman Stage 2, 5 x MX5s, BMW 5 Series, 3 Series, 7 Series, X5 and Z4 and a whole load more.

I’m now back to more sensible cars - but still love modding, detailing and driving.

So my R53 Mini Cooper S is too thirsty, too painful on my old knee and I need enough room for my 9-year-old daughter to actually be able to sit in the back behind my seat - she very selfishly keeps growing.

Looked at the usual suspects, Audi A6, E Class etc - I have already had 3x BMW 5 Series of various vintages - and I want toys! Heated seats, xenons, etc.

Only looking to spend a couple of grand, so that pretty much ruled out any of those marques in my budget.

And then a quick hunt on Autotrader using ‘heated seats’ as a search term unearthed the Skoda Superb.

Hmmm. Have never, ever considered a Skoda before.

LOTS of good reviews. (As you lot already know!)

So today drove to the depths of Stamford Hill to check out a 2.5 V6 Tdi Elegance.

It was tatty, filthy, the headlights were so cloudy you could hardly tell they were on, the satnav needed a code so wasn’t working, the airbag light was flashing and the ABS and Traction Control lights came on and stayed on after 3 minutes of driving - dealer assured me they would just go away. Hmmm.

But the seats! SOOOO COMFY. And heated. The gearbox - SMOOTH. Made a nice noise too. And was quicker than I imagined.

I sensibly I left that money pit on the forecourt.

But I am smitten. And off to see another tomorrow!

Hi there, welcome.  Hope you find a nice Superb.  It will certainly be comfortable and have lots of toys (well, a half decent spec one anyway).  You’ve had some collection of cars!

Hello scorcher welcome to the Skoda forum keep looking the right one will come along .:)
