New car

Featured Replies

Since it was serviced back at under 95,000 miles and now at over 103,000 budget for doing servicing, checking tyres, windscreen etc, all the usual.

But was the DSG serviced at 40,000 & 80,000, are there invoices showing that?

next is at 120,000 if done as Service Schedule already, or now if no record of that being done.

Even if there is Full Main Dealer Service History you need to check that the DSG Servicing is on the system as done, and the Brake Fluid changed at 3 years, or at the last Service, or that will need doing.

What about 'The Fix', is it one that has been done, or luckily has not been done?

Don’t know if the engine has been poked by Skoda yet. I’m planning to look at the car tomorrow.

Looks very good and the interior is looking good. I would say that servicing history is essential. Especially on the DSG. Good looking car although I don't think I could live with that interior.

As above check service history is comprehensive and as expected for age and mileage.

Worth noting it has the Amundsen Navigation but in one of the images it displays "insert navigation media". There should be an SD card with the map data inserted into one of the SD slots in the Glovebox. They may have taken it out for safe storage until purchased, or it may have "gone missing" so query it and factor in you might need to buy the SD from Skoda if you plan to use Nav.

Note that with the Amundsen it HAS to be a Skoda SD card, not just a "normal" SD card as the "secure" feature is used to identify the card as map data.

Indeed, wouldn't send someone to a Skoda dealer to buy a generic SD  :tongueout:

I’m not overly bothered bout the satnav as I’ve got 2!

The early MKIII Tdi engines have had issues with the water pump, but normally that problem appeared around 30-50k miles, so that car either has already had the waterpump changed, or has a good one. But worth bearing in mind especially as the Water Pump / Cambelt is due at around 140k.

Fix doesn't apply to the MKIII Tdi Engines.

Understood, but there's been so much discussion and so many threads on here about what SD card to use I thought it was worth making it clear why it has to be a genuine Skoda SD card - again B)
