W8 reading light button

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I just ordered a used W8 light assembly from a Superb to fit on my Octavia and although the unit looks nice, the drivers side reading light button does not stay in when pushed. The passenger side button does stay in when you activate it.

Can any of you shine some light over this as to whether this is normal or is it just something wrong with the unit?

Not normal.

How are the buttons when the lights are off? Pressed in or out?

When it is automatic(thats is when I open door and lights are on and I put the key and lights are off, buttons are pressed out.

OK then the unit might have some fault then I guess....

When the middle button is centered (lights operated by door opening closing - automatic as you say) the outer 2 lights of the unit stay on, unless their buttons are pressed in. I know a picture says 1000 words but I don't have one right now...

I wouldn't mind having to press the buttons OUT to turn on the lights but one of the switches is faulty and won't stay in.... so I had temporarily removed a bulb....
