Cars due for a service again in a few thousand miles. So I'm going to look at changing the gearbox oil.

 

Can anyone help identify which gearbox oil I need?

 

2008 octavia VRS.

PD engine

Manual gearbox

P.s anyone know where the drain and fill plugs are also?

Typo

If it's the 6speed box it should be G052171A2 But always check with dealer or TPS.

There is a code stamped on the bottom of the bell housing. Skoda Technical can tell you which oil you need from that.

 

Generally 5 speed is mineral and 6 speed is synthetic.
