Afternoon all,

 

I've signed up as I think this might appeal to someone either looking for a parts car to keep their own car going, a specialist breaker or someone looking for a project. Especially as mk2 VRs petrol estates are quite uncommon.

 

For sale is my Mk2 (56 plate) Octavia VRs petrol estate in black. The car has been faultlessly reliable for me, but has now built up a to-do list with a couple of bigger items and I've decided to replace it with something a little younger. I don't really have time to break the car myself and so I'm looking to get rid of it asap to someone who has the time. Given that it's a fairly rare VRs petrol estate, I think there is a fair profit left in it at £500 if someone buys it to break for parts.

 

Good points:

-Current MOT until end of the month so can be driven away

-Panels generally very good condition for age

-Bits like xenon lights are in very good condition (new bulb in RHS) and would make for very good spares/upgrades

-Interior condition good for age. Mainly just drivers seat bolster wear and drivers door card upper.

-New RHS front spring and top mount

-All in all a very decent parts car or breaker

 

Main things to note/issues:

-Mileage just under 200,000

-Clutch in need of replacement, actually still drives fine during normal day-to-day and only ever slips under very high load, however it also has a clear clutch rattle at idle.

-One tyre canvassed on inside edge, fairly common alignment issue on VRs octavias and would need replacing and wheel alignment checking as a minimum. Car can currently be driven on full size space saver with good tyre though.

-Rear RHS wheel bearing needs replacing. If car sells at £500 I have a brand new in box wheel bearing that I will let go with the car.

-It has the common tfsi misfire at warm idle which very occasionally trips a mil light, never caused a real issue though.

-Air con no longer blows cold air.

-In need of front discs and pads, though rears were done less than a year ago.

-Couple of chips in the windscreen, though it passed MOT with them fine last year.

 

The car is based in Rugby and I'm looking for £500.
