Cruise control fault?

Featured Replies

Hi, the last few days my cruise control has not been working, when I switch it on there is a small hazard symbol next to it and you can not set the speed, but if I pull over and switch off the engine and restart it works again till I next get in the car, any ideas? Car was serviced about 2 weeks ago which was first oil change and inspection at 18,000 miles.

Have got the car booked in for the end of the mo the, am I correct to assume the car will have logged some kind of fault code each time the cruise control hazzard symbol showed on the dash? The fault has gone away over the last 2 days so not sure what the problem was all if it will come back.

I would imagine an error like that would give a fault code behind which would detail the cause.

Would be interested to know what it was because I've only ever seen "ACC Unavailable" never a icon like this.

I had the same problem ( earlier posts on here) & received some advice although my own self diagnosis seems to be more useful ! In my case, the car had been standing in a car compound whilst I went on holiday, and the same orange exclamation CC icon you described appeared when driving home a week later. Next day was fine once again, ie no icon and cruise control returned as normal. It did happen again a day or so later, but a switch off / restart sorted it out. Since then, and now over  two weeks & 360 miles of varied journeys later, all is as it should be - I believe my problem was caused by damp ( standing in a compound during a damp, murky week), because now I'm a happy teddy again ! Good luck in solving your problem. JKW

Took my car to skoda on Monday to have the cruise control looked at, on the drive there the hazard symbol was showing again but I had to stop for fuel and on restarting it was working again, they checked the car for a fault code and the only one was a air conditioning voltage drop, reset it and took the car for a drive and done a few ignition on/offs to try get the fault to display which it did not,  I doubt the air con was to blame but you never know,  problem with it being intermittent fault is getting it to show the problem why at the dealers. They just said any more problems to contact them. Will just have to see if the fault has gone or not but I will be suprised if it has.
