does the passenger airbag turn off automatically when no passenger in the car have just noticed light off sometime

Would I be correct in thinking that the light doesn't actually stay on if there is a passenger in the front seat though?

My thoughts are that it turns off after self testing or remains on (light) if you've got it (airbag) turned off.

Yes the light means the warning lamp works, and if it goes out the system is fine.

 

There should be a manual switch somewhere to turn off the passenger airbag for when a baby seat is in the front.

The car is clever enough not to fire the airbag in an accident if no-one is in the seat.

its switched on but work from my car and sometimes have stuff on seat whilst I drive around

know what you mean by self-check my last car did that and went off after

The key to turn it off is in the glove box it comes on then goes off once it checked stays on to tell you its switch off .

Stays on for about 1 minute after start up and stays off
