Noticed this after cleaning the car today.

I thought it was a bump stop but looks more like a spring. 

 

Its a bump stop it needs replacing you can get them on ebay and that other place .

Sorry i can't say i never needed to replace one some other member mite be able to help you .

To replace it you have to take the shock off, so may as well do the shocks at the same time given the price of them. There is a Skoda parts dealer on eBay, just message him with you reg and you'll get the right parts

I recently had these fitted to my estate.

The originals were in pieces and as Black vRS Oct says, replacing the rear shock at the same time might be a good idea.  Also, a wheel alignment  might be in order seeing as things will have been knocked out of place.

It is an easy DIY to remove a rear shock,  three top bolts & one bottom. The pita is getting the wheel arch liner off to access the top bolts, a little time consuming but easy

I pulled out any fasteners and it allowed enough flexibility in the liner to pull / bend it back a bit and expose the 3 bolts.  No actual removal required.
