Just a thought. Has anyone done it?

I’m not thinking HID conversion, but upgrading the Halogen units to OEM xenon units.

 

It's not impossible and it may have been done, but it's a huge task.

 

You also need self levelling and headlight washers to do it legally. So you would need at least:

 

- 2 x headlights

- 2 x ballasts (I believe they are seperate but maybe not)

- wiring loom or adaptor to match existing wiring (not sure)

- AFS and/or self levelling control unit (same thing maybe?)

- self levelling sensors (on axle?)

- headlight washers, pump/motor/ whatever, plumbing and new front bumper if washers not already fitted

-  VCDS or more to code everything

- probably more that I haven't a clue about 

 

So IMHO just not worth it.

 

There should be a few threads on here if you search - I'm pretty sure you're not the first to ask.

I did wonder about the same, and it's been discussed a few times on here. What pist0nbr0ke said seems to be the consensus. If I ever see a scrapped one it would be tempting to collect all the parts! I already have the headlight washers hough. I'd also like to put the vrs bumper on! Nearest I'll get is probably osram nightbreaker bulbs!
