CENTRE VENTS DIFFERENCE?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Think that noticed that the 2 centre vents in the console blow differently air like one less than the other more...

The sided (driver's window side and passenger's window side) seem to be ok together with the right of the centre while the left vent of the centre seems to blow less air.

Dual function is not selected in the climatronic's panel.

Thank you for any input and kind thought.

Not an expert by any means but I believe the flaps that control the flow can be adjusted / reset using vcds / vagcom....  There may be a way to do this using the controls on the front.  I have noticed in most of my VAG vehicles(3) they do tend to favour the left hand side of the cabin... I guess maybe due to them being originally LHD vehicle design.

Hope this helps in some way

Not sure what you mean by tending to favour due to being LHD and if it should behave like that...

I've heard sometime that the flaps/vents can be adjusted or reset but will have to find out for a guide or the function via the panel.

As for the VCDS, not keen on setting this function via the software...do you know?

I may have a thought that as it is automatic system it can also control the flaps differently among 4 air vents....maybe.......?

By favouring I mean I always find my VW / Skoda etc vehicles clear the left hand side of the windscreen first, regardless of where I place the controls...   As I said I'm not 100% but I think the flap motor reset is only possible by software ? I'm sure others will know for sure....  I do tend to use mine in the auto position, but makes little difference if I use manual either.

best of luck.

To do a flap reset, press and hold the AC button and the face vent button together. The climatronic will then do a short calibration sequence.

Do you have a picture of these buttons?

Ours clears one side of the window much faster than the other.

FatblokeVRS the buttons are easily what meant, is the AC and the centre/face air vent functioning button...

Press them together for 2-3 secs and you'll see the AC and centre vent face LEDs will be blinking in sequence for about 15-20 secs , at that time release buttons and the flaps calibration will have been completed.

Climatronic returns in working condition then.

I have tried this and still the centre left vent blows less air than the 3 other...

Shall I suppose a very rare issue though?

Hasn't anyone met such?

Thanx

Rang 2 dealer services and both didn't know the issue and asked to have car for insection furtherly on this.

Will try to connect VCDS and investigate in the HVAC module if i find anything...

So really i understand no post before regarding mine..

Not sure if the 2 centre vents have difererent flap adjustment although they are in the same position side by side.
