LED interior strip lighting down roof centerline?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Since there is no light for the rear seats in our MK2 estate, I was thinking about adding some.

I don't want to cut or take out the roof lining so I had a thought that I could get some LED strip and plumb it into the lighting module above the front seats such that it ran down the roof centerline. With an appropriate resistance, I could also dim this as required.

The problem is fixing it up with it sagging etc and I didn't really want to stick it on in case it's a pig to get off.

Has anyone tried this?

I thought that some small puncture holes and fishing line at intervals to hold it up might work but I doubt I'd get a loop through the lining.

Any ideas welcomed!

Thanks

I also needed lighting in the rear for my hatchback. So got some cheap LED strip lights that run off an AA battery pack.

I used velcro, hook side, to stick it onto the ceiling, which has worked well and been a year so far.
