I've been an avid reader of these forums, even before buying the car - I'm a proud owner of a second hand Skoda Octavia 2.0TDI 63 plate, top spec, (pan roof, heated seats - wife a big fan of both!). Well I've had it for a year now - my first Skoda, and only my second ever car (Ford Fiesta 1.6TDI).

 

It's been perfect to drive so far, but now it's at the 40k mileage and coming up to 5 years old, I know that things are going to start to need fixing and I'm hoping this forum will be of great help.

 

Anything I learn along the way, I'm more than happy to share.

Welcome!  Still relatively low mileage for a five year old car.  I presume you plan on keeping it?

Yes, absolutely. Bought as a family car. Hoping to keep it for as long as it's affordable keeping it on the road. I've got 2 kids, 2yo and the other is 4months. Planning some big journeys through Europe in it. Had to have it cleaned once - got a feeling that will need doing at least once a year!
