Chrome surround on front grill?

Not had this done yet but I am going to get it wrapped.

So my question is...

How is the chrome surround actually removed? Is there a guide or youtube video?

Mine is a pre face lift but it should be pretty much the same. Presuming you have the grill off the car separating the black grill from the chrome part is fairly easy. Look on the back you'll see some clips. Press the plastic tabs down to release. Some along the top and around the badge iirc. Along the bottom edge of mine was some sticky double sided tape. Just pull it away from the bonding. It gets a good hold mind!!

I have not took it off, not even tried yet but the guy doing the wrap did ask how it came off so it would be nice to show him :)

It just pulls off but I snapped two clips off the left and right edges. Suppose the plastic goes brittle after 10 years. There is a T25 or T30 bolt at the top of the grill to take out then it clips into rectangle slots around the bottom bonnet edge. Along the top and both sides there is 6 removable pop clip things. 3 of those broke too but I ordered new ones from TPS only cost a couple of quid. Part number is stamped onto those. If I was doing it again though I would be tempted to heat the plastic a little bit just might have softened it up enough to flex more rather than snapping. Thankfully it clipped back into the grooves ok with two clips missing.

This is my effort. Not too bad imo out of a rattle can. New badge looks better too imho.
