Almost afraid t oask...

Ok - I'm getting ready to take this on (and thanks for all the really good advice so far). So please indulge a couple more stupid questions.

I have the Fusso Soft 99 Dark, but need to get rid of the thick layer of LSP I smothered the car with to keep it protected over winter. Rainmaker says above that one option is to use Korrosol, then wash, then Gyeon Prep / IPA. I get that. He then mentions Bilt Hamber Cleaner Fluid as an alternative. Is the BH Cleaner Fluid a one-step that covers everything (which  would be better for me), or do I have to do the Korrosol / wash, then the BH Cleaner Fluid? The blurb on the BH website sells it as a one-step to do everything, but I wanted to check with real users first.

If I'm going that far (and given this looks like it could be a year-long duration if topped off regularly with a wax, so it might be worth it) if I'm claying the paint (would be using a quick detailer as lubrication), can I also use the same combination on the glass?

Thanks and sorry for the noddy questions.:)

Edit to add - just seen the BH cleaner is for after claying.

You could use BH cleanser for both stages. For removal of LSP as well as after claying. It's upto you.

I'm more likely to use Korrosol and the like for LSP removal and pre-clay, then IPA before sealant or waxes stages. But that's just one approach.

Clay - yes, same approach for glass. I use water as clay lubrication, with BH clay bars.

Cheers Wardy, and for the reply on wheels. As you know I'm a complete novice as well as a complete coward, so will steer clear of the IPA this time around. I'm veering toward a G3 mitt rather than a bar. Again - lack of experience and time - might not give me as good a result, but I hope I will be less likely to mess it up, and it's a big car to get round, so will hopefully not take as long.

When I was looking at the G3 mitt, I saw they also do a preparation shampoo that takes off LSP, so was thinking about giving that a go before claying. Anyone with any experience of this? Is it a waste of time if I can use the BH cleanser that I already have for pre and post clay? Thanks.
