Leather or Alcantara?

Featured Replies

According to my eManual the boot should not allow a KESSY key to be locked inside.

As Skoda provide a proper keyless system our keys never see the light of day so are extremely unlikely to be left in the car.

If Skoda have sorted the problem out then at last someone has finally taken note of the problem, but I can assure you can still lock the keys inside a 2017 SEAT Ateca because I've tested it on ours. And they lock inside a 2017 mk7 Golf estate because when the salesman told me I was speaking nonsense, I simply gave him a practical example. It's a problem with new Audi's too, we tested it on a friends car.

If someone could confirm Skoda's claim I'm sure that'd be helpful to anyone who orders KESSY.

Alcantara is a must! To bad they didn't put in on door panels.

Not only did I RTFM, but I just popped out and found that I could not lock the key in either an Octavia or a Kodiaq.

Throw the key on the driver’s seat, close door, try to lock car. No response.

Leave a back door open, lock car ok, throw key on rear seat, close rear door, car unlocks flashing indicators, dash warns key is in car.

Lock car, open boot lid, throw key into boot, close boot lid. Kodiaq refuses to close power tailgate, Octavia immediately pops boot lid and gives dash warning.

I’m quietly confident I won’t be getting a call from my good lady to tell me she’s locked her key in the car.

If only the same was true without KESSY!! One of the first tweaks I intend to do when my VCDS cable arrives is the boot lock delay mod.
