Amundsen+ software version?

Featured Replies

I'm considering updating the maps on the unit in my Yeti (i.e. buying a 2018 V10 RNS315 Western Europe SD card) and it got me wondering if I ought to check/update the software too.

I've done lots of googling and am now more confused than when I started! It doesn't help that all over the web, the terms software, firmware and map seem to be being used interchangeably.

The info I've got from the unit is:

Part number 3T0035192M

Software version 0324

System hardware version H59

Navigation data part no 3AA919866

Navigation data: version 0050

Navigation data: data medium EUR-W-V4

As far as I've been able to tell, there is a sw version 0327, which has non-specific bug fixes but I don't know if there's anything later.

I haven't been able to determine if there's any point in upgrading and if so, how to do it.

I have found a dutch site that sells RNS315 "firmware" upgrades from 0263 to 0270 for 15 Euro, but these numbers seem to be associated with the units installed in VW cars.

Does anyone know what the latest software version is for these units and if/how the unit can be upgraded?

That's the first time I've found anyone saying they can successfully update the RNS315 (or Amundsen+). Usually people who say such things are either confusing it with the RNS310 (Amundsen) or are simply making lies up to make themselves look important. I've known a VW dealer update a unit under warranty, but nothing else until now. But I wouldn't be too concerned about updating the unit if it's working correctly. Maps can be updated fairly simply with an SD card, as you know. I've done a few myself for friends local to me.

I thought if anyone would know, you would :-)
