Upgrading my MK2 VRS to MK3

Featured Replies

Evening guys and happy New year.

I'm looking at treating myself to a mk3 Octavia VRS and was after some advice. I currently have a MK2 VRS Cr which me and my wife absolutely love it has been mapped with dsg..

I'm now wanting to go back to petrol due to currently changes that are going to happen over the next years plus more power.. .

so what do I need to look at for?? I'm wanting an petrol estate with DSG any must have extra?

also I'm wanting to make sure I get a model with the e diff is that only avaible on the VRS230 that they brought out or is it on all models with that power.. I also see then 2017 model has 240bhp is that correct also e diff??

does any have a sports exhaust as standard?

sorry for alot of question thanks in advance.

to get the diff, you need vRS230 like mine - this was a limited run last year, then replaced with the vRS245 model also with the diff.

annoyingly the "standard" vRS now also has 230bhp so is denoted as a "230" but doesn't have the diff. - this is unfortunately going to make finding one harder.. :)

the 230 had a slightly different exhaust, not really that sporty but yes apparently more sporty than the stock vrs.

As above you need the Pre-facelift 230 or the facelift 245 for the VAQ diff and sports exhaust. Don't expect much noise (if any) from the standard 220 Pre-facelift and 230 facelift versions they are very quiet.

Canton sound system is a must have option IMO, improves the sound system considerably from stock. Cruise was an option on the earliest MK3 but if you're looking at the 230 this won't be an issue. Winter pack is a very nice to have if you can get it; heated seats and Windscreen are great through the winter months.

Other than that they come well specced as standard, so the basics are more than covered; auto headlights, auto wipers, Xenons/LED headlights, Climate Control, Bluetooth, rear sensors etc. Later ones had the lower Nav option as standard too.
